Investigation into the heat transfer models for the hot crude oil transportation in a long‐buried pipeline

Based on reasonable simplifications of a two-dimensional (2D) energy equation, basic heat transfer equation in 1D form is obtained for the hot crude oil transportation long-buried pipeline. To enclose overall coefficient and numerical simulation temperature fields pipe wall soil are introduced, they together with constitute cross-dimensional models transportation, respectively. Some procedures, including grid generation, partial differential discretization, algebraic solution, combined to solve two models. designed cases different pipeline parameters, relative deviation between results from does not exceed 1%, agree well. Furthermore, nonuniform natural field designed, its influence model investigated. Under condition field, atmospheric as ambient causes an apparent deviation, whereas at buried depth not.
